Sunday, August 17 - (Nashville) Come Marinate & Get Stirred Up, with Green Community at Global Stir Fry. Join the team of families, teachers, students and youth that make up the local group EarthMatters Tennessee. This year's Stir Fry will take place at 1001 Gale Lane, between Leland and Granny White, at the George W. Carver Food Park in South Nashville.Cultural lessons, language and foods, music and dancing, garden tours, games, arts and crafts will all be part of the day's activities. Several cultures will be present to share customs/examples of how their people and ancestors care for their piece of the planet. From 3 - 8pm
Wednesday, August 20 - (Spring Hill) Lend a hand with erosion control on the Grassy Branch Creek in Wyngate Estates or on McCutcheon Creek in Jerry Erwin Park from 10:30am until 3pm.
Saturday, August 23, 2008 - (Nashville) The Dragon Roars Again! Nashville Dragon Boat Races and Festival - This is an event for everyone!
Teams of 22 people will race along the Cumberland and need your help to cheer them along. Bring your friends and family down for a fun day celebrating our wonderful Cumberland River. Opening ceremony at 8:30. Races begin at 9:00 with the Grand Championship Finale at approximately 3:45.
